Title: Family-friendly charm with a few minor drawbacks
My wife says that having a designated play area or kids' club would have been a great addition for families with children.

The hotel has few rooms, but a lot of charm and elegance .. The absolute hammer is the dining room, which is kept in the atmosphere of earlier times. The location is almost ideal for a city break.
Parking for one night cost 10 Euro.

We have been very nicely received. The owners were very helpful. Extraordinary and comfortable breakfast room and the breakfast was very good. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Bergen. The hotel had been recommended to us and we were not disappointed.
There are no downsides.

This beautiful Victorian villa is in a quiet location, situated in a lovely park. It is within walking distance from the city center and the harbor. the charming breakfast room boasts stained glass windows and serves free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. the rooms are comfortable, have a small balcony, and the beds are really cozy.
The hotel lacks an elevator, so you will have to climb the stairs manually.

This hotel is a hidden gem, located in a quiet neighborhood right outside a park. The rooms are comfortable and some even have a balcony with stain glass windows for beautiful views. The staff are friendly and attentive. The breakfast, included in the price, has a fresh assortment of items and the bread is to die for.
All was fantastic, no improvements needed.

Small hotel in an authentic 1900's town house. 15 minute walk to the city center. See the 2nd floor breakfast room for a glimpse of the lifestyle a hundred years ago. Rooms are comfortable, tiny bathroom, though. Beds to soft for my taste -- but that's definitely just a small minus.

The hotel is located on a small hill in a very quiet area, making it an ideal place to unwind after exploring Bergen. The rooms are well-furnished, some even offering balconies overlooking the park across the street. The highlight for me was the gorgeous stained glass window in the room, adding a touch of elegance to my stay. Additionally, the breakfast served in the nice dining hall was included and featured a fresh assortment of food, including the best bread ever.
Nothing to improve, everything was just perfect.

Once you have got your head around Norwegian prices, Steens is actually good value for Bergen. It is comfortable with reasonably sized rooms, a pleasant building with some nice old features, and was well maintained and clean. Very much a large b&B.
On the down side, breakfast was limited, and parking was a problem if you had not secured a space outside the hotel (payable) well before arrival.A Real note of caution is that the hotel borders a public park which when we visited was busy all day with a noisy selection of drinkers and other substance misusers. Definately a no go area at night, and some guests were disturbed at night with the noise from the park.

Location in a calm residential neighborhood not too far from tourist sites. Free coffee/tea all day. Common sitting room overlooking the park. Free use of computers with internet access. Helpful staff.
There are drug addicts in the neighborhood (and in park in front of the hotel). They don't seem to bother anyone though.
